Who we are
Commonside is an early-stage, volunteer-run project building free, privacy-focused communication services. Email is our first public service. We use open mail protocols and open-source software, without advertising or personal-data sales.
Available now
A 512MB mailbox at commonside.org for approved accounts, with aliases and sending limits. Standard IMAP and SMTP clients are supported.
Roundcube webmail uses the same credentials as your account panel.
Manage your account, aliases, password, recovery code and panel sessions. Username changes are temporarily unavailable.
Join Commonside
Request an account, save your private Request ID and check your contact inbox daily. Commonside volunteers review applications. If approved, you receive a one-time registration link valid for 5 days. Save and confirm your recovery code during signup.
Honest limits
Server-side encryption does not make messages unreadable to privileged operators. We process delivery data and security logs. There is no uptime guarantee, and full mailbox/key disaster recovery is still unfinished. Keep your own copies of important mail.
Files, chat, DNS, VPN, mirrors and Tor access are planned, not currently offered. Service availability and security information describe the current scope.
Lawful and considerate use
Spam, phishing, harassment, illegal activity and abuse of other systems are prohibited. Users and service operators remain subject to applicable law. See the Terms of Service.
