Terms of Service
Updated 30 September 2026.
Commonside provides an early-stage email service for lawful use. Read these terms and the privacy policy before applying.
Accounts and acceptable use
Provide a reachable contact email and a genuine reason when requesting an account. Approval is discretionary. Do not use the service for spam, phishing, fraud, harassment, illegal activity, unauthorized access or attempts to disrupt systems. Do not evade service limits or sell access to your account.
Your security
You are responsible for your account activity and keeping credentials private. Use a unique password of at least 12 characters and save your recovery code separately. Do not send passwords or recovery codes to Commonside volunteers. Recovery without the necessary credentials is not guaranteed.
Limits and enforcement
Mailbox quotas, sending limits and alias limits protect shared capacity. Restrictions, suspension or removal may be used to address abuse and security incidents. Contact Commonside volunteers about an error or enforcement concern. Legal obligations apply to both users and service operators; we do not claim immunity from responsibility under applicable law.
Service limitations
The service is provided without an uptime or permanent-availability guarantee. Messages can be delayed or lost. Keep independent backups. The status page is not a comprehensive outage monitor, and complete mailbox/key disaster recovery has not yet been verified.
Deletion and privacy
Account closure, live-message purge and panel-account removal have different effects. Complete deletion may require volunteer coordination, and audit records or backups can remain. See the privacy policy before taking a destructive action.
Legal limits and updates
Nothing here removes rights or responsibilities that cannot be excluded under applicable law. These terms describe an operational service, not a guarantee of legal compliance in every jurisdiction. The current version and update date appear on this page.
